Dear Weight Watcher member – past, present and future:
The first thing I am going to say to you is this: Always remember, I am first and foremost a Weight Watchers member…just like you. Just because I happen to stand in front of you during the meeting, doesn’t mean I am not one of you. I am. I stand beside you, really. I am not above you. We are all in this journey together. I am human, too. I have struggles. I have good days. I have not-so-good days. I am not perfect.
AND…I don’t expect you to be. No one is.
With that in mind, I would like you to remember another thing. I don’t judge. I don’t/won’t criticize your choices. Yes, we are in this journey together, but you make your own choices. And, I will never judge any choice you make. Ever. Period.
With that in mind, I would like to bring up ONE more thing. When I see you out and about in the communities we live and work in, please – PLEASE – don’t be embarrassed to talk to me. If you haven’t attended a meeting, that’s okay. It’s your choice. If Weight Watchers didn’t work for you and you dropped out, that is okay. It’s your choice. Everyone has to find what works for them. Please don’t feel like you have to justify your choice to me. I understand. And please don’t feel like you have to justify what you are doing/eating/drinking or whatever. Please don’t hide from me. Please don’t feel like you have to cover your cart in the grocery store. Please don’t feel like you have to justify eating French fries at a fast food joint or justify eating pizza at a pizzeria. Just be you. Eat what you want. Do what you want.
Just please – PLEASE – don’t feel like I am judging you or your choices.
I. Am. Not. Period. And I never will.
With that in mind, I also then ask of you…don’t judge me or my choices. Again, I am a WW member first and foremost. Just because I work for Weight Watchers doesn’t mean I am perfect or that every choice I make is a healthy one. As many of you know, I try to be as real as possible. Leaders are just members who decided to kick it up a notch and try to help others out.
You are you. I am me. What works for me may not work for you. What works for you may not work for me.
I really just want to be me. And I really just want you to be you. When we see each other outside of the meeting room, just remember that. I am just a member, too. I am not judging you. You don’t have to be embarrassed or feel like you have to justify anything. You don’t. I don’t judge. Period.
Lastly, if you are struggling and need to talk to me or the others who I work with. PLEASE DO. That is our job. Our job is to help you. To guide you. To get you through those struggles. To get you on your path to a healthier and happier you. Lean on us. Talk with us. Share with us. We are here to help. That’s all.
I believe in each and every one of you. Whatever your journey is. Yes, even if it’s not Weight Watchers.
Take care and know that you got this. You can do it. Believe in yourself. Why? Because I believe in you!
All my love,
WW member AND yes, your leader
